I'm taking this "true story" class from UCLA extension, and have outlined the script about "Lang Lang." I rename it to "Concerto No. 1" since there're still people who don't know who he is. For the record, he is a well-known pianist in classical music, a star. When I am outlining, I find that what intrigued me most is the relationship between his father and him. He's such an unconventional Chinese father figure. On one side, he is self-sacrificial like the rest of Chinese fathers; on the other side, he has so much "guts" and "insight" to the works of the system that he not only doesn't give up but has his vision realized through his son. The real hero ought to be his father. Here’s my gratitude towards Erik Bork, my instructor, to help me figure this out.
