Jiming Sun Lindal

Residing in Los Angeles, Jiming presently writes screenplays. 

 

Her feature drama screenplay “Crazy Dance Day and Night” was a Second Rounder (top 15% of 6,764 entries) of the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition 2014.  She was a reader for the festival screenplay competition in 2015, giving notes and evaluating screenplays for the first round.

 

She received a feature film-writing certificate, earned with distinction, from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2016.

In 2016, Jiming wrote her short drama screenplay "Merry Christmas;" in 2017, “Sparrow’s Diary;” in 2019, "Love'un Christian," "A woman with broken wings," and "Fragmented;"  in 2022, "Another Sky" and "Miseria;" and in 2024 "A family I never have" and "Puddle."

Jiming's short film script "Fragmented" was a Semi-finalist (top 2.8%) of the BlueCat Screenplay Competition 2021.  The film based on the same script was completed on Oct. 16th, 2023. The film is the official selection of seven film festivals including the Oscar qualified Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival 2024 and won the Audience Choice Award from Houston Asian American and Pacific Islander Film Festival 2024.  Jiming is also the producer of the film. The film is now streaming on YouTube.

In 2023, Jiming's short film script "Miseria" was a Semifinalist (top 8.6%) of the BlueCat Screenplay Competition and a Quarterfinalist (top 20%) of the Screencraft Short Film Screenplay Competition.

In 2025, Jiming's short film script "Puddle" was a Quarterfinalist of the Screencraft Short Film Screenplay Competition and was the top 10 Animation Short Script on Coverfly and on its Red List. Another short film script "A Family I Never Have" was a Quarterfinalist of the BlueCat Screenplay Competition.​

 

In the summer of 2019, Jiming gave a workshop on screenwriting analyzing "Frozen" for the Genesis Writing Ministry summer writing camp program.  The workshop was well received.
